After the success of 2025 MegaNats, the Australian Powerlifting Alliance 2026 MegaNats will bring together Australia’s strongest Sub-Juniors, Juniors, Masters, Special Olympics, and Equipped athletes on one stage. Spanning four massive days of competition, this event will showcase unmatched strength, skill, and determination as lifters battle for national supremacy.
Expect record-breaking performances, intense rivalries, and an electrifying atmosphere as some of the country’s best powerlifters push their limits. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or new to the sport, the APA 2026 Mega Nationals is an event you won’t want to miss!

Registration Information – Please Read Carefully
This registration link is for Sub-Junior, Masters, Special Olympics, and Equipped athletes only.
Junior (Classic) athletes do not register via this link.
Junior entries for the 2026 APA Mega Nationals are by invitation only.
All Junior athletes must refer to the 2026 Junior Mega Nationals Selection Processdocument for full details on rankings, invitations, and timelines.
Entry Criteria
To be eligible for the APA 2026 Mega Nationals, you must:
- Be a current APA member
- Not be serving an anti-doping sanction
- Meet the qualifying criteria within the designated competition window (detailed below)
- Not be serving a suspension or under investigation for breaches of IPF or APA policies
- Not be a member of another powerlifting federation
- Fulfil the APA volunteering requirement (as outlined in the Athlete Selection & Progression Policy)
If you believe you qualify for an exemption (e.g., volunteering requirement), you must apply and receive approval before registering. Submit exemption requests to exemptions@powerliftingalliance.org.au
QUALIFICATION & ENTRY PROCESS

📌 Even if you have submitted these documents previously, you MUST upload them again as part of this application.
✔️ Completion of the SIA Anti-Doping Course – find it here
- First-time participants must complete the SIA Anti-Doping Fundamentals Course.
- Returning participants must complete the 2026 Annual Update (takes approximately 10–15 minutes).
✔️ A passport-style photo of yourself – This must be a clear, recent headshot suitable for identification purposes (a phone selfie is fine)
✔️Credit Card Details or PayPal – Payment is required at the time of registration. Our payment system does not support bank transfer.
Qualification & Selection Process
Classic Junior Athletes
- This year, there is a ranking system involving first and second round offers. Please read this document for more information.

Sub-Junior, Masters, Special Olympics & Equipped Athletes
- All eligible athletes who meet the qualifying total can enter their respective Nationals event.
- Qualification totals:
- Lifters must qualify within the 14th of April 2025 to 18th January 2026
- Registration remains open until capacity is reached.
WEIGHT CLASS CHANGES
Lifters can qualify for MegaNats in:
- The weight class they competed in when achieving the qualifying total
- One (1) weight class above their qualifying class
- Deadline for weight class changes: 30 days before the event (as per 2026 IPF techical rules)
- The qualifying total must be met for the registered class.
