YOUR IPF AFFILIATE

The Australian Powerlifting Alliance is the only powerlifting federation in Australia that has an affiliation with the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF), offering athletes and coaches a pathway to compete on the world stage. 

 

ELIGIBILITY TO PARTICIPATE

To be eligible to participate in an Australian Powerlifting Alliance competition, all athletes, coaches and officials (i.e. meet director, referees, technical and platform team) are to be:

  1. Members of the Alliance
  2. Not be serving an Anti-Doping ban
  3. Meet the Qualifying Criteria for National Championship and International Representation Eligibility.

 

2024 NATIONALS SERIES

The Nationals Series offers our strongest lifters the opportunity to compete and qualify for IPF Sanctioned International Events.  

  • 2024 Nationals Series: Open Classic.
  • 2024 Nationals Series: Sub-Junior and Junior Classic.
  • 2024 Nationals Series: Masters and Equipped Classic.

For 2024 only, lifters from all other tested Australian federations are invited to complete an Eligibility Application to qualify. Following confirmation of acceptance, lifters may formally register for the event.

2024 IPF SANCTIONED EVENTS

The Australian Powerlifting Alliance intends to send a team to all IPF Sanctioned Events in 2024. To be eligible for selection, you must compete in our 2024 Nationals Series. Please visit out International Events page for further information.

 

LOCAL COMPETITIONS

We are already starting to schedule local competitions into our events calendar for lifters to compete. If you see interesting in running a local competition, contact us to find out more at info@powerliftingalliance.org.au

 

CLEAN SPORT. EVERY BODY WINS.

The Australian Powerlifting Alliance supports Clean Sport. It is a condition of membership to agree to anti-doping rules and requirements.

COMPETITION RULES AND GUIDELINES

As an IPF affiliate, the Alliance follows the rules set by the IPF. 

In addition, the Alliance has prepared a detailed Competitions Guideline to assist those wanting to host Local and Special Event Competitions, or wanting to know more.
