The APA National Series

The APA Nationals Series is the premier domestic platform for Australian powerlifters seeking elite competition and international representation. Each event in the series is sanctioned under the Australian Powerlifting Alliance and forms part of the athlete development pathway leading to selection for IPF-sanctioned international competitions.

Whether you're a Sub-Junior just starting your competitive journey, a seasoned Open lifter chasing national records, or a Master lifter continuing to represent at the highest level, the APA Nationals Series is where Australia's best come to compete.

All athletes wishing to be considered for international selection must compete at their relevant Nationals event and meet the published qualifying standards. These events are conducted in accordance with IPF technical rules, and only results obtained at APA-sanctioned competitions will be recognised for national ranking and team selection purposes.

In addition to the general selection policy, each Nationals event has event-specific eligibility criteria and qualifying totals, which are updated annually. These are outlined below:
