IPF Level 2 Coaching Course

NOTE: The IPF Level 2 Coaching Course is an IPF-mandated qualification. APA does not control the pricing, had no say in the scheduling of the training dates, and does not receive any portion of the course fee.
What the course covers
Coaching theory
You’ll cover advanced training methodology, psychology, strength and conditioning, technical rules, anti-doping, nutrition, and tailored coaching approaches for youth, women, and athletes with disabilities.
Technical and practical coaching
The practical component focuses on applied coaching in real scenarios. You’ll work through advanced technique development, training design, strategy, error detection and correction, athlete communication, and competition preparation. Assessment includes on-platform coaching observed by an IPF international coach, alongside home-based assignments.
Assessment and accreditation
Participants sit both written and practical exams. Successful candidates receive an official IPF Coach Diploma and membership card.
Regulatory requirement
From 2026 onwards, all Head Coaches at IPF international championships must hold an IPF Coach License Level II certificate to be eligible for nomination by any nation.
This is mandated in IPF By-Laws (1.2.2025), Chapter 14.5.1, which states that effective 1 January 2026, Head Coaches must provide proof of an IPF Coach License Level II as part of their eligibility to coach at international events.

This course is a mandatory requirement for APA international Head Coach and Assistant Coach appointments in 2026.

You do not need to have completed the IPF Basic Course.

High demand is expected, and all interested applicants are encouraged to submit an EOI.

Places are limited to 18. Priority will be given to appointed 2026 Head and Assistant Coaches, followed by other applicants based on the strength of their EOI.
