Coach/Handler Registration
Important Information
All coaches and handlers wishing to access the warm-up room and coach or handle athletes on the competition platform at 2026 Bench Nationals must register prior to the registration deadline.
The APA will not contact coaches or handlers regarding incomplete applications, missing documentation or outstanding requirements. It is the responsibility of both the athlete and coach to ensure all requirements have been met before the deadline.
Coach applications that are incomplete or submitted after the published closing date will not be approved. Coaches or handlers who have not been approved will not be permitted to access the warm-up room or coach athletes on the competition platform.
Coach registration is provided free of charge for all APA National Championships.
Required Documentation
The following documentation must be submitted as part of your registration.
Please note: Even if you have previously provided these documents to the APA, they must be submitted again with your application unless otherwise specified.
You will be required to provide:
-
A pdf of your training history summary showing completion of the Sport Integrity Australia Anti-Doping Fundamentals course (if new) or the 2026 annual update (if previously completed)
-
A current Working with Children Check that remains valid for the duration of the competition.
-
A list of the athletes you will be coaching, including their APA Member IDs.
Applications that do not include all required documentation will be rejected.

National-level and above athletes, coaches, referees and officials who participate in non-APA/non-IPF sanctioned powerlifting competitions (excluding recognised exemptions such as unaffiliated novice competitions and spotting/loading duties) may become ineligible to participate in APA and IPF National, Regional and International events for a period of 12 months.
If you are unsure of your eligibility, please contact the APA before registering.
